I have been having the worst heartburn from acid reflux. It has also caused very uncomfortable bloating. I did a little research and found out that most of the foods that are a staple to the candida diet are among the worst foods to eat for reflux.
Foods to avoid include: onions, garlic, tomatoes, peppermint, and citrus (lemon). I was eating almost all of these at every meal. No wonder why I was having so many problems. I don’t know if caprilyc acid is also a contributing factor. Maybe someone with some more knowledge can answer that one. Anyway, I have cut these down substantially, until I can get my reflux under control. Maybe this is something you can try as well.
I also found a homeopathic supplement called candida from aquaflora. It is an enzyme restoration for the upper GI tract. It claims to relieve symptoms from acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion and ulcers. I just started using it, so can’t recommend just yet. However, if it does what it claims, it might be something worth looking into. I wonder if anyone else on the forum has used this and can comment to its effectiveness.
