I read here that sautéing veggies in coconut oil is fine during the cleanse, but is it ok to eat olive oil as well? Should I avoid cooking the olive oil? I like to make herbed olive oil marinades for my veggies then BBQ them. Should I only be eating it uncooked on salads or just not at all for the cleanse?
Your body needs a quality oil every day, and virgin olive oil is among the best in my opinion. You can use it for sauteing vegetables or take a teaspoonfull occasionally during the cleanse and diet both. Of course you don’t want to overheat the oil but you want the vegetables to remain firm anyway, so this shouldn’t be a problem.
Also, I read that vegetable broth is ok for the cleanse as well. Would an organic store bought vegetable broth be all right? Or does it need to be homemade?
If you purchase the broth, read the ingredients very carefully. Just one ‘bad’ ingredient could alter the effect of your cleanse. The broth should probably be refrigerated at the store, otherwise, it may contain a preservative which is usually a chemical that you should avoid, especially during the cleanse.
