I have 4 supplements that are good for leaky gut:
1) L-glutamine (helps heal sugar sensitivity specifically). Pretty cheap overall.
2) Fermented cod liver oil (reduces inflammation and contains prebiotics), get regular cod liver oil as a cheaper alternative.
3) SF722 is great for the gut and is antifungal. There’s a lot of things that it does that I don’t even know about.
4) Miracle fiber (aka inulin): You can add this to breads, yogurts, oat bran, buckwheat, etc and contains nothing but prebiotics and FOS. There’s a variety of fiber products out there, this is just the name of the most common one in the US.
I would check out renew life probiotics and see if they are more common or cheaper; it doesn’t contain the DDS-1 that able recommends but it is a good industry standard probiotic to take. Able also recommends innate response which contains DDS-1. HMF neuro is one that I take and is the only one that contains human micro flora; it might be hard to get though.
In general, I would look for high count(over 15 billion cfu per pill) high strain probiotics (over 10 strains); these are the best bang for the buck. Ideally, you should be taking 40-90 billion cfu of probiotics per day to get better. You might even be able to get some high quality ones from a pharmacist or a doctor.
