Hi ZoePhoenix…Alot of people — including doctors have much trouble accurately diagnosing, let alone treating, fungal infections. And if your fungal candida has gone systemic — ie become virulent and disseminated throughout your blood, organs and tissues, then just treating it topically or locally is definitely not the way to go.
Two well known books are essential reading to understand how candida works to spread itself throughout the body — the first book is by Orian Truss called Candida: The Missing Diagnosis and the other, by William G Crook is The Yeast Connection. What most people completely fail to understand concerning candida or candidiasis is that problems like vaginal candida, white tongue, fungal skin infections,GERD etc may not be just topical or localized problems — but that these problems are merely advanced symptoms of the systemic candida inside your body. So you must treat this problem internally to get rid of it.
Here is William Crook’s famous Candida Questionnaire — now on the web for all to use, which is perhaps the most accurate and cheap method to determine whether you have systemic candida. It’s just a series of questions that represent all the many different possible symptoms of candida. The result or diagnosis is determined from the point scoring system:
There are many alternative anti-fungal supplements that you can use — such as Lugol’s Iodine, Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide. These remedies also kill bacteria, viruses and parasites which also frequently associate with Candida problems to cause further complications. What I’m saying is that getting rid of systemic candida is not simple or easy. You will have to watch your diet closely — no sugar, no carbohydrates, no dairy or wheat products. No junk food. No Antibiotics(this causes something called the Antibiotic Syndrome).
An example of a full alternative anti-candida protocol is shown here.
