The healing process is tough and lengthy, so it is going to affect your life and slow you down in a lot of ways, just like recovering from any illness would. The alternative is not to recover and continue getting worse. If you’re worried about exams or something, then you could go on a decent “preparation” diet and avoid all the bad foods until you’re ready to begin fully. It really depends where your priorities lie.
