I also dealt with toxic mold poisoning from a moldie apartment. Its going to take a long time to get better; it all depends on how bad you are at this point. I personally lived with mold for 2 years when I was unemployed during height of recession and did nothing but stay in my apartment applying for jobs, etc. I told my landlord about it and he did nothing. I eventually developed seizures in my sleep and the first night I moved out, I felt immediately better.
For me, I finally felt relief after 6 months on the diet but I waited 6 months after moving out to start the diet (so it was really a year).
Since I started, I have been on the diet for 2.5 years and feel pretty good finally. I mean, I feel as good as I did in college about 10 years ago. I had health problems before the moldy apartment but didn’t know they were problems until the mold problem, so its been almost a life long problem of me being ill…
So what I will suggest to you is plan on a 6-18 month recovery time to reverse the toxic mold poisoning and to feel like you did before you moved into that apartment. This can be sped up faster if you consult a naturopathic doctor who will suggest specific supplements for your specific symptoms.
In general you likely have some of the following problems from my experience:
-acidic bodily pH
-not enough oxygen in the body
-inflammation of the gut and brain (amplified further if your pH is low)
-a variety of bad bugs have overgrown, not just candida. Examples include h.pylori, parasites, SIBO (bacteria in small intestine), strept, etc. So its not just candida that is your problem but everything that feasted/populated with the environment in the gut.
-liver problems and inability to detox the toxins properly
-drained thyroid/adrenals from going through this emotional experience and immune system breaking down.
So unless you address some of these other problems at the same time, its going to be hard to get better fast just on the diet by itself.
Hope this helps.
