Hi Hal, and thank you for sharing your story. I’m not taking molybendum since I haven’t yet experienced severe die-off symptoms. With the exception of the very first day of dieting, two months ago, when I took a pill of grapefruit seed extract and got the worst diarrhea and almost fainted. Also, I’m not 100% sure I’m actually suffering from a candida owergrowth. Though, my reaction to the grapefruit pills sounds much like a candida die-off. How about you, are you taking molybendum? How long have you been on the diet?
Sounds like you’re getting quite a lot of support! The guys on here are great. I have no idea how they have time to do their day jobs as well.
I wasn’t sure for ages, but I’ve been on some form of reduced sugar diet for ages, and initialted a “full stop” at Christmas when I started macrobiotics. I’ve felt amazing on the macrobiotic diet, but started feeling worse again after a month or two, so I cut out grains and beans as well as recommended on the main site. For ages I couldn’t quite wean myself off 90% dark chocolate, was using almond meal for baking, and was using xylitol as a sweetener which I’m sure in some manner may have hindered my progress. All of this amounts to a “gentle” start to the diet, since I’ve had die off at each phase, though like you, nothing worse than when I started the anti fungals.
I’ve been on anti fungals and probiotics for 2 months, but only been on Able’s hardcore diet for 2 weeks now. I’ve also been on Molybdenum for nearly 4 weeks, and had to increase the dose after eating swede. It was a bit confusing, because I came down with a cold the same weekend I started eating it, but I think I can seperate the bug from the swede related brainfog, the brain fog has gone now I am on 3 a day, but annoyingly the cold is still here. 🙂
I guess the only thing you can do, is stick to the diet and see if helps. My attitude is, who cares what it is that’s causing it, as long as the diet kills it off and makes you feel better. Obviously if it doesn’t, then your answer probably lies elsewhere. Incidentally, my doctor had the same attitude about my homeopath, but since he couldn’t find anything to cut off or irradiate, he told me there was nothing he could do, so I ditched him for the homeopath who has turned out to be much more useful. That all hinges on how good your homeopath is though.
