-Protein synthesis, as any other of the 20 proteinogenic amino acids
-Regulation of acid-base balance in the kidney by producing ammonium
-Cellular energy, as a source, next to glucose
-Nitrogen donation for many anabolic processes, including the synthesis of purines
-Carbon donation, as a source, refilling the citric acid cycle
-Nontoxic transporter of ammonia in the blood circulation
So are processes not related to methylation?
Practically every substance, reaction and function in the body has some tie with, relation to, or reliance upon methylation. That doesnt make them all methylation substances. Its pretty cut and dry what is and isnt. Study the the diagram of the methionine and folate cycles. Anything that a person can take that is a direct part of those 2 cycles is considered a methylation supplement. There are other substances that are methylated, like CoQ10 or L-Carnitine, but are not “methylation supplements”.
Also, I had a question about methylation. Is it true that there isn’t any one doctor or scientist that knows how the methylation cycle works completely and/or perfectly?
Its not very difficult to understand it completely, I could probably, face to face, teach someone how the cycle works to a level of complete understanding in a couple of hours.
Don’t you have to borrow ideas from multiple different doctors about this process in order to understand it in its full complexity?
The discrepancy occurs in deciding which snp’s are pertinant and the best ways to go about treating them.
Isn’t there other cycles that are larger than the methylation cycle that influence it and its functionality?
Thats a naive question, its the human body, everything affects everything.
