Hi Shayfo, I was eating Bob’s Red Mill gluten free oat bran. It just sucks because before the diet I used to eat steel cut oats almost every day for breakfast.
Yes, I read about how goitrogenic foods affect the thyroid, and that cooking may destroy these properties. It sucks since this makes up a lot of the veggies on the diet. And they’re also my favorite foods, even outside of the strict diet. How do you deal with this? Do you limit them to a couple times a week?
If you don’t mind my asking, how long have you had underactive thyroid? How are your levels now? Do you take an iodine supplement in addition to the seaweed? I’m wondering how long it will take to raise my levels and when I should get retested.
And thanks for supporting my decision not to eat meat. You’re my new best friend!
