they are the milk grains. i read the instructions..but what kind of milk can i use?
i like sweet stuff..so if i can get away with anything sweet that would be ok…and what does this stuff taste like? i guess it will look like milk too. and it says change out the milk everyday. thats sounds like that could get expensive changing out 4-6 ounces every day. i sure could use some help here. any and all advice would be greatly appreciated..
This site that has been recommended here on the forum has a lot of information:
Dom’ Kefir (I tried to cut & past the info re: milk types to use but for some reason it wouldn’t ‘paste’?!) Found the info in the FAQ section at the very bottom of the webpage)
I’ve found this really helpful as well:
http://www.yemoos.com/faqmmain.html (there are sections re: milk types & kefir taste ect in the FAQ’s)
I found an organic whole milk (not Ultra pasturized or lactose free) in a 1/2 gallon size for $4.69 (from a Whole foods market) which seemed outrageous to me at first but it is still cheaper than purchasing store bought kefir-I’m viewing my kefir as ‘medicine’ so it makes it easier to justify any expenses even though I’m broke!!
