I had a look at one of his posts. He’s right that zero-carb is a terrible strategy. Candida can metabolise ketones as well as glucose, and glucose deficiency can cause setbacks. You need to carefully balance fat and protein calories in something like an 80-20 ratio in ketosis, and it doesn’t sound like people piling down meat, eggs and nuts are doing this. The wrong ratio puts strain on your liver. Too much protein is toxic for anyone, and a reduced intake is linked to extended lifespan.
Protein is essential and 50g/day of carbs keeps you out of ketosis though, so why go crazy on fruit and eat 0g protein? It sounds like the guy just poisoned his liver with poor weightlifting nutrition (he mentioned shakes) and everything else was probably subsequent to that. It’s hardly a cure for people who got candida without busting their liver.
