I just got my milk kefir grains in the mail yesturday and they are rehydrating. Ill be doing this for about 5 days. Today they’ve already multiplied. I was wondering how much MILK kefir everyone drinks? I know too much of anything is a bad thing but i really want to get plenty of beneficial bacteria as im sure everyone else here does. Do you guys think 4 cups a day would be too much. Ofcourse I would start of slow like 1-2 cups but I was planning on drinking 4 cups a day. Im not sure if this is too much. Keep in mind I have been drinking commerical kefir for more than a week. Some days I have 3 cups and others I have 4 cups without a problem but commerical kefir is very different from homemade as homemade is more potent and contains way more bacteria and yeast. What do you guys think? I would like to know before I get started.
You should start low and evaluate your tolerance. I see no reason you can not drink 2 or 3 cups a day if don’t react to it.
What are you planning to use as a sweetener ??
How long do you plan to ferment it ??
