I’m of the opinion that most, if not all, candida sufferers have a mercury problem at the root of their troubles and that frequent, low-dose chelation is the ultimate cure. If not the ultimate cure, I would say it’s at the very least a huge piece to the puzzle and a big part of the eventual solution. Your thoughts?
Meaning that I had no more symptoms of candida and could have eaten a bag of sugar if I wanted to without having to take any antifungals whatsoever. I stopped them after the 3rd day. I had partially started my methyl cycle previous to starting my “official” protocol, which I then took for seven days, in fairly large amounts. As explained by that previous link once you get your methyl cycle up to a certain point, it pretty much operates on its own at that point. And the immune and detoxification systems just react to re-jump starting the methyl cycle like that. It all happens pretty quickly once the wheels start turning again. So even though I stopped the supplements after a week, the results continued for a few more weeks until I took an immune modulating drug that is known to cause yeast infections. But even now if I eat something with sugar, it flares up some, then I herx for a day, then im fine, somewhat. Im in kind of a goofy, always changing place right now with all this. More than can be simply explained.
Mercury causes problems with the immune system mainly by tyeing up glutathione (which needs the methyl cycle to be operating properly to exist and become usable/recycled and is important in activating your t cells) and slowing the methyl cycle. The body cant make immune cells properly if the folate cycle of the methyl cycle is slowed. Those predisposed to methylation problems (blocks in the cycle caused by the genetic inability to produce an enzyme that transfers methyl groups onto various things or prevents a compound/vitamin from being changed into something else that keeps the cycle going. Some vitamins main jobs in the body are to do this) get hammered by this even further. It is quickly becoming the opinion of many that restarting the methyl cycle is the best way to detox such a person. The autistic crowd is especially big with this and they say that when they start their protocol, the metals just start flowin out of em’.
