Unfortunately, one of the most important things you need for your treatment is time. It can take as long as 6-18 months to fully recover from candida overgrowth; just because you are over die-off doesn’t mean you over the infestation. It takes a long time to clean up the mess that candida left and there typically is more organs damaged than just the gut (from my experience). It can hypernate and wait for another day for a tasty treat.
You are on the right path; as you get better you can start to eat more foods. Following the strict forum diet will make you feel the best and will help you heal the gut the fastest. When you start stage 2 and are basically mostly symptom free, things start to get a lot easier because you can tolerate more foods such as almond butter, occasional rice, fruit, etc. It only gets better in other words…the beginning is the hard part. Also, as you get better you can occasionally cheat and get away with it and not notice any drawbacks…I am getting married in a week so going to cheat in a major way myself.
Antifungals are to kill candida and you need seperate supplements to heal the gut just to clarify. Probiotics are the single most important thing anyone needs for their long term recovery, so continue taking them. Ideally, you will also want to work your way up to 40-90 billion count per day of probiotics.
There is still candida in your body and you won’t be able to completely destroy it because everyone needs it to survive. If you killed all of the candida in your body, you would be dead. Everyone heals at different rates so its hard to state exactly when you will get better or start to notice that candida is not in the stools. I’d say 6 months minimum…
L-glutamine a great supplement to take to heal the gut so continue taking it.
