Im just going to say that I am not worried about mercury.
Like other unhealthy things in life that we cant avoid, I have mercury fillings that I didnt ask for.
It happens,it sucks,whatever.
I was not feeling good a little over a year ago (why I went from veg to vegan) and decided to take the fillings out one by one with a dentist who specializes in amalgam removal.
I wanted to do all of them, but could only afford one. I have 3 more to do 🙁
With that said, mercury is NOT my candida trigger. How do I know? Even if I ate one of my fillings right this minute, it probably wouldnt add up to the mercury I inadvertently ingested in my pregnancies when I was having fish cravings.
Like, I ate seafood every freaking day! No lie. I had a nutritionist tell me to limit canned tuna….that was it.
Being brought-up on the New England coastline, I was a sea-foody. Not any more.
Candida showed up after 8 months on a mostly raw fruit and vegetable diet.
Do I think fruits and veggies cause candida? HELL NO. SUGAR doesnt CAUSE candida….it just feeds it.
It only gets out of control when our immune system gives-in.
Otherwise there would be epidemic candida suffering, and I dont see that happening in my high-carb high-sugar circles. If I did, I would be asking them for advice, because it makes sense to ask people- who share your specifics habits – how to remedy an issue that your habits produced. Obviously it isnt the habit of eating whole foods including fruit.
Even more, I drank copious amounts of alcohol in years prior. Parents owned a bar. I know people. We drink.
In the last year+, I havent drank anything! I have had the healthiest habits I have ever had!
I think when you eat mostly raw…and eat alot of fruit… that over a long period of time your liver and kidneys start giving-up some of those toxins they were holding on to, that they couldnt before because they were working so hard. Those toxins start floating around and making a ruckus….not a medical term,I know, but just maybe it screws with your immunity a little.
Hey,its just a theory.
I wonder sometimes that my body cleaning out past years of abuse is causing a healing-crisis…and candida is a symptom,a by-product, of floating crap in the blood. It would certainly make handling this disease easier, because then I could quantify my journey.
SO MUCH EASIER TO HEAL WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WILL GET THERE SOMEDAY!
According to this forum, we never get there. Its like having a disease that cant be cured.
If that is the case, im going back to drinking.
