You cannot say that in such a simple way.
Amalgam fillings do release mercury, but at such an extremely low rate that it would take a year or more to reach the amount that is consumed when eating a single “dose” of tuna fish.
In addition, there are fish-derived products that we don’t even recognise as such, but that are present in our food. Some fish oil, for example, which would otherwise be disposed of if only the “fish as a fish” were used, is used as an ingredient for different types of food. So we are exposed to mercury through different channels.
But eating fish (“fish as a fish”) is by far the greatest source of mercury exposure. Far greater than amalgam fillings, even if we only eat fish once or twice a year.
That’s why it’s so important to first avoid fish before even thinking of any other anti-mercury measure.
