I know the last post was a while ago, but in case you get notifications…
I’m a female and have had moderate-severe acne since I was 12. Am now 44. About two years ago, I did an elimination diet with soy.
I found that all soy, even fermented, breaks me out. I conducted the test while on Yaz, which I was on solely to keep my skin clear. (Only Yaz and accutane ever worked for me.) Eliminating soy is difficult because, except for fish oil for the omega 3s and salmon or cod about once every two weeks, I am a vegetarian and now on the candida diet!
My face is moderately clear now, which I attribute to the elimination of soy and the candida diet. I only get 6-12 pimples on my face at a time instead of several dozen, and they are less inflamed, but it does seem to be getting worse with every passing month on the diet. : Hope this is only temporary. My antifungals include tea tree oil (in Yeast Cleans capsules), grapefruit seed oil, and many supposed anti-acne foods, garlic, raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar, etc. You’d think with all this, and gentle daily cleaning with Thayer’s Lemon Witch Hazel, I’d be clear, but mine is definitely hormonal and probably cortisol/androgen related too.
But perhaps you can try eliminating soy if you have not yet tried it, and see if that helps!
