I am cracking up because of your seriousness and how well educated you seem to be in general; haven’t quite had a guy like you on the forum before and the way you write and think makes me laugh. Very analytic and skeptical.
The way I look at things is that doctor’s just treat the symptoms. For instance, you can in to a doctor’s office and determined that you had diabetes, hypo/hyperglycemia, cancer, etc…they would prescribe you medication, but they wouldn’t address the cause of the problem. The cause of a lot of diseases, in my opinion, is candida and the imbalance of the bacteria in the gut. Dr. Mcoomb’s feels the same way and feels that you can reverse candida causing health conditions.
Or what if I had reoccuring strept throat (every other month), they would just give me antibiotics over and over until they no longer are effective (this actually happened to me and had to get my tonsils removed). For me, western medicine failed badly and only improved one condition, my insomnia problem (which can be cured by natural medicines as well). The antibiotics led me to a life of poor health and has effected many other people as well. Antibiotics should not be given out like candy and doctors over prescribe this medication to the detriment of a lot of peoples long term health.
If you went to a doctor because of being obese, they would give you medication instead of telling you to change your diet.
I went to the doctor for seizures, breathing problems, panic attacks, hyperventilation, etc…and they could find nothing wrong with me whatsoever. I did an EKG, tons of other tests, and it was a giant fail.
How do we lose this bacteria in our gut? The western diet and western medicine. Antibiotics are a great way to kill off friendly bacteria in the gut, and most of it can never get replenished again. Eating french fries, pizza, pork, beef, white flour, white sugar and few vegetables alone can cause great health problems. The american diet is not healthy and thats why we have an obesity epidemic, diabetes at the highest levels in history, high rates of heart disease, colon cancer, etc. It is the single greatest cause of health problems in the world by itself. So at the least, you and others changing to “healthy” diet will find benefit, in the short and long term. Creating a good environment for beneficial bacteria in your gut is the the key to long term health and I feel you can become nearly invulnerable to many health problems just by getting the gut in check by itself. So the protocol is more than just candida, it is about getting your immune system really strong as well.
If you do try the diet, antifungals, probiotics, etc…and experience “die off,” at that point you will know how serious a problem you are facing. Just by going gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, and eating vegetables more often should not cause you to feel very very ill and debilitate you for weeks on end. A healthy person should have no problems and no symptoms after trying the diet/protocol; they should just feel good in general.
All I am trying to do is connect some of the dots for you about how I think and the power of a good diet. Even though I say some “extremist” type things about health and medical conspiracies…doesn’t change the fact that “you are what you eat.” I guess that isn’t a fact, but you know what I mean…
