Hello, welcome to the forum.

The ‘stricter’ diet that most of the members are following (not the one on the website) will definetly help this problem.
I am skeptical of the candida diet
May I ask why? And after reading your post, I agree, you’re extremely skeptical of a cure which won’t benefit your treatment at all should you choose to try it.
if after three months I notice no improvement I will consider the experiment a failure.
That may be a false assumption on your part. The success of the treatment depends completely on you and your dedication, not on the treatment itself as it does work.
The diet is healthy (with the possible exception of the cleanse, which I find uncomfortably devoid of calories)
The cleanse isn’t absolutely necessary if you find it uncomfortable. Neither Raster nor myself did the cleanse before starting the diet. It’s only used to offer a type of jump-start to the diet.
so even if it is all a quack, I will at least have eaten very well for several months.
Pardon me, a quack? You think that a Candida diet may all be a “quack”? Can you explain that please?
Candida turns into an infestation and overgrowth because of various instigators, foremost of which was supplying the ever extending population with a food supply. Does it not make sense to you that withholding at least part of the food supply might help to lower the population?
this diet seems difficult and requiring much planning.
Of course it’s difficult. Do you know of anything else that is this valuable … and offers free advice during and afterwards as well that is easily obtained?
Poking around the internet I found that there is some controversy as to whether or not such a diet would be of any benefit, as well as not much in the way of success stories.
That’s because so few people actually stick to the protocol long enough for a cure.
I would feel a lot better about the whole thing if someone could provide some quality sources as to why this thing is supposed to work, as well as if there were a success story or two from people with similar symptoms.
Read the post above.
Around the forums I’ve just seen people working towards success, not actually any one getting there.
If you are sick and visit your doctor, after you’re completely well again, do you continue to visit the doctor’s office?
It takes a long time, I won’t deny that, and it can’t be called ‘easy’ under any circumstance. But it seems that, as people experience less and less of the Candida symptoms they seem to drift away from the forums because they have no more questions to ask, and most of them seldom if ever return to the source of their success.
