The way I look at things is that doctor’s just treat the symptoms. For instance, you can in to a doctor’s office and determined that you had diabetes, hypo/hyperglycemia, cancer, etc…they would prescribe you medication, but they wouldn’t address the cause of the problem.
Yes, I agree with you. That’s what I meant to say when I said that western medicine is a reactive rather than a proactive approach. If you want to take care or yourself and learn to be healthy, a hospital is not the place for you. It is unfortunate that medicine doesn’t make more room for that, but it will be moving towards that in the future. It’s not an if, but a when.
If you do try the diet, antifungals, probiotics, etc…and experience “die off,” at that point you will know how serious a problem you are facing. Just by going gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, and eating vegetables more often should not cause you to feel very very ill and debilitate you for weeks on end. A healthy person should have no problems and no symptoms after trying the diet/protocol; they should just feel good in general.
Sure, that die off exists very much so is an indicator that something odd is going on which western medicine fails to explain.

Yes, we have some stories about it working for people- the problem is that we don’t have a tracking of lots of people. For all we know, for every success story there are ten people who sincerely try the diet and it doesn’t work for them, and we don’t hear from them because they never bother to post on the forum. I am delighted that it has worked for some people, but it isn’t a statistically significant finding. Until a scientific study is done and the results found, very little can be said about it.
I don’t know where you read that, but if it was on the website instead of the forum, please be aware that the members have nothing to do with the website content, only the forum. At any rate, you’ll learn more ‘truths’ by sticking to the forum.
Ah, I thought that perhaps the head forum posters (you guys) made the website, or had some communication with the webmasters.
You’re totally missing the point; the point is that members experience serious symptoms which they refer to as “leaky gut” (whether it’s scientifically correct or not) which are improved by following the protocol.
I guess I can’t help but wonder why you’re not trying to locate a better, different doctor; I would guess that, according to your own words, you’d at least be much closer to ‘science’ in one of their offices than you are here on the forum.
Sure, I’d be closer to science, but assuming that all the major aspects of this candida diet are true, there is a failing in science. It is not in the scientific method, but in the application of that method.
With what some of the members here on the forum have been through with Western doctors, I’m fairly sure most of them will agree that, what we have is not ‘some’ problems, but a hell of a lot of problems in Western medicine.
Sure, the two I see are that it is a reactive, healing practice instead of a proactively living healthily one and that it is for profit and run like a business. This is to the detriment of everyone in the system who could be healed by cheaper or naturally occurring substances but are instead treated with more expensive remedies which may not be the solution or in fact may be problematic. We have listed two things (reactive, and for profit) and now suddenly we’re in a hell of a lot of trouble. But medicine’s slowness to change is the flip-side of a very good coin- it requiring an enormous amount of study and certainty before new medicines or practices are put into place. The problems we have are unfortunate but were put into place by well meaning people (the doctors and scientists) and some quite villainous ones (the people making butt-loads of money that don’t want things to change).
I don’t have any questions for now. I’m going to learn more about this diet and start figuring out how one goes all the day eating nothing but vegetables.
Anyway, thanks for your time
