Had anyone sucesfully eliminated brain fog by treating Candida? I would just like to know if it is possible.
Thank you all greatly to anyone who replies. I guess I am looking for some solid hope in all of this gloomy fog. I am trying to write a PhD and am panicking a bit, I think. I need to knock this fog on the head.

I had problems with my stomach and guts and thought I had Candida. I went on different diets to cure it but I crew worse over a period of about one year. The last 2.5 month where spend on the forums diet here. One key symptom I had all the time was brain fog. It felt I had a glass of red wine every single day. I was so tired of it. It was not a nice feeling as wine but there was a nausea feel to it too and anxiety. When I didnt see any improvement I decided to test other paths and came to find out that I have IBS which is an bacterial overgrowth and unbalance in the small intestines. The high fiber diet in all candida diets was feeding the bacteria and they in turn, fermented the food and are producing poisions which give you brain fog and lots of other problems. The sympthoms are the same as in candida.
My believe today is that there are actually many people who believe they have Candida but in fact what they have is a bacterial unbalance. You can test that for yourself and go on a low fiber diet and see. For me the brain fog was the first to disappear after only 2 days. When I have too much fiber or react with a food intolerance brain fog is the first sign. But I noticed it has nothing to do with Candida. As I can eat sugar, honey etc without affecting me or getting brainfog again. I get it only when I eat fiber.
PS. You wrote that you produce lots of gas. That is a typical sign of fermentation or air-swallowing. Check if you gulp down your food and if you burp a lot. Check too if you are breathing shallow through your mouth or through your nose. If you breath trough your mouth you have to learn to breath into your stomach with your nose. Most likely your problem is bacterial fermentation and therefore you have gas and wind. Test and read about IBS / bacterial fermentation on the internet and start a low fiber diet and see. After 2 to 3 days to one week you should see a big improvement.
