I reached the symptom-free state about a year ago. Presently my maintenance program consists of eating natural antifungals (garlic, jalapenos, etc.) and avoiding sugar and wheat as much as possible. Outside of these two items, I’m no longer on the diet. However, I’ll continue to eat kefir and Greek yogurt on a semi- regular basis as well as take a rather low dose of probiotics. This seems to work well for now, however, I continued with the diet for several months after being completely free of symptoms. I believe this is important to avoid a return of the infestation once you’ve reached the symptom-free state.
