For the sake of putting more information about pregnancy and candida out there. Since you guys helped, but didn’t know exactly what to say to me when I asked what to do, I want to give an update.
For the past week, I’ve been very strict with my diet, taking twenty minute hot baths, taking 250 mcg molybdemum, and eating yogurt and/or kefir daily.
I am making positive progress. My face is clearing up but very slowly. My glands seem to be less swollen, but progress is slow with that too. I’ve seen some evidence of candida in my stools.
However, I’ve lost 5 lbs. more, and I’ve been losing my hair. Most days, I don’t feel good enough to get off the couch/out of bed until 4 p.m.
If I wasn’t pregnant, I’d stick it out. However, I am obviously taxing my body too much and not getting enough nutrients, and that’s just not okay when I am putting my long-awaited, much-loved baby at risk. I have to balance the risk of having candida, having die-off toxins for a longer period of time, and not getting enough nutrients, and it’s gotten to the point where I feel the nutrients are the big issue.
I am going to continue the moly and baths, but I am going to add in some more veggies (peas, sweet potatoes, etc.) and more helpings of chicken, turkey, or fish.
I need the strength to get up and make myself something to eat. I need the strength to take daily walks. The green veggies were just not giving me enough even with helpings of buckwheat and eggs. Plus, because of pregnancy hormones, most of the food I can eat looks absolutely disgusting, and I have to choke it down.
I finally found the name of a naturopath in my area (rare around here), and I am just waiting for her to call back. We’ll see if she agrees with me or not. I’ll let you know if my plan changes again.
My symptoms before starting the diet were so mild (mild/moderate acne and occasional vaginal discharge) that if I could go back, I would NEVER have started this diet while trying to get pregnant.
Thank you for recommending the naturopath and molybdenum. Thank you for helping everyone on this forum. Your willingness to help others is exactly why I am sharing my experience with you.
