I read her post before I replied, Jorge, so I’m aware of that fact. But she didn’t mention that the child was allergic to virgin coconut oil which is very different from the meat of the coconut.
Many virgin coconut oils (such as Tropical Traditions Gold Label Standard brand) are made by using the traditional method of “wet-milling” also referred to as “fermentation.” Fermentation of coconut oil is described as the natural separation of the coconut oil from the meat and coconut water using gravity. There are no machines or other substances used in the extraction; this is why we recommend virgin coconut oil only on the forum.
Many people who are allergic to the meat of the coconut find that they are not allergic to the oil of the coconut since these are literally two different substances.
