Well, he is right and wrong. He is right about the starving, you can’t starve candida. The point of the diet is to give your body the break it needs to get the gut under control. You wont get it under control if you keep feeding the problem with fruits or honey. Especially not high sugar stuff like dates and figs. You should actually get reactions to these.
Complex carbs are for you to decide. There are some complex carbs that got me very little trouble such as organic brown rice and occasional potatoes. The stricted of diets is only good if you can pull it off without cheating. Limiting yourself too much and hammering too much on diet can cause mental pitfalls, stress and adverse effects like binging.
