This is really interesting and certainly correlates with my experiences. I agree that diet comes secondary.
The first time I got rid of candida I ate organic brown rice all day and complex carbs cheats a couple of times a week. I remember having the least trouble with brown rice, potatoes were okay, and the whole wheat came with super spicy sauces so made easy to digest. Cheating on these foods would sometimes make me feel better, especially mentally. The same could not be said for fruit though.
The second time I got rid of candida I was completely miserable on the anti candida paleo diet for 2 months, and remember finally getting some energy when I ate a moderate amount of brown rice. However, eating too much of it would be too heavy on the body. The most important thing in this one however was the incredible mental setback. I had a mental uplifting that lasted a few weeks prior to initiating another anti candida protocol. The sugar deprevation going into the anti candida diet made my depression way worse than before, making me fall back completely and messing with my overall health in a major way.
Perhaps this means that we shouldnt develop a sugar phobia. Especially when mental issues are involved.
