This is going to sound absolutely bonkers, but would it be possible to make coconut/buckwheat bread in a rice cooker?
It is definitely possible to make bread in a rice cooker (see: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Rice-Cooker-Bread ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MWjHqA0lDI ; http://www.wideislandview.com/2009/07/recipe-no-fuss-rice-cooker-banana-bread/ ; http://hiexpat.com/korea-blog/cooking-in-korea-making-bread-in-a-rice-cooker-guest-post–3423.html )
However, all the recipes I’ve found so far contain no-no ingredients: yeast, milk, butter, sugar, and of course wheat flour. I know zip about baking because none of my dorms/apartments over the past six years have contained ovens, so I’m completely at a loss about how to do ingredient substitutions.
The alternative I suppose would be to purchase a bread machine, but I don’t have the space in my closet-like kitchen and I’d rather spend the money on buying organic eggs (which are about 60 cents per egg ;_; normal eggs are only 15-25 cents)
Any suggestions would be much appreciated…
