There is little difference, as far as I can see, between SIBO and Candida — both are the result of dysbiosis caused by factors like taking excessive antibiotics or poor digestion caused by lack of stomach acid or caused by a lack of alkaline bicarbonates in the pancreas for proper main stage alkaline digestion in the duodenum. In all cases the immune system is weakened to very low levels — allowing not only candida, but all sorts of pathogenic infestations into the intestines which then disseminate throughout the body to become systemic autoimmune problems.

Candida has always been an associative disease — it is always associated with other pathogens like viruses, bacteria, mycobacteria and even parasites. This is why no two people with candida will ever have the same symptoms — because of all the myriad associations of candida to other pathogens.

To give you an idea of the many “symptoms”(other diseases, other pathogens) that can occur with candida, here is a questionnaire that will confirm whether you have candida as well as show you how many other diseases are associated with candida problems:

Dr William Crook’s Candida Questionnaire

My own experience and thinking on candida(I cured my own systemic candida — been gone for over 7 years now) is very different to the approach of modern medicine, which still follows the backward tenets of the Germ Theory which are: One Germ –> One Disease –> One Cure. So when doctors are presented with a multi-associative disease like candida, doctors are completely stumped and have no idea how to cure candida and tend just to latch onto the bacterial problems where they then recommend antibiotics — which are all derived and made from molds like penicillin. Penicillin is a mold — it is a FUNGUS!! — so who in their right minds could ever believe that an antibiotic that is derived from a fungus would actually kill a fungal problem like candida? In fact antibiotics will do the direct opposite — they will help to make the candida stronger and help it to rapidly spread !!

What people don’t seem to realize is that diseases like Leaky Gut, IBS, Crohn’s Disease, H pylori, Gastritis, Ulcerative Colitis, GERD, Arthritis, Myalgia Pain etc may all also involve candida. Therefore all these bacterial diseases can also be regarded as symptoms of candida and until you actually get rid of the candida itself — you will have a very difficult time getting rid of your other bacterial diseases.
