I don’t have any research to back this up, but when I eat a lot of fat, I feel better than when I eat very little fat. I’ve been eating avocados, virgin coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil a LOT since starting to eat to treat candidiasis, and it seems to be working well for me, personally. Also, I’ve had a really hard time getting adequate calories, and the fats help a ton.
I’ve done other cleanses/detoxes in the past on a yearly basis, and one of the bits of information I seem to come across when I’m researching them is that fat is important to the detoxification process. Some toxins are fat-soluble, so you need to be consuming fat to pass them from your system properly. Likewise, some vitamins are fat-soluble, so you need adequate fats in your diet to absorb them (think olive oil on salad, etc).
