5/18/2012 Update – On the 16th at 2:00am, the pain and pressure from the possible prostatitis became nearly unbearable so I went to the ER. They gave me an anti-inflammatory injection and a prescription for an anti-inflammatory (naproxen) and pain (tramadol). They instructed me to start on the antibiotic (ciprofloxacin) that my doctor prescribed to me the day before. They released me about an hour later with a diagnosis of prostatitis.
On the 17th, I went to the urologist and my urinalysis came back negative, however, they did diagnose me with prostatitis as well. They are sending my urine test out for a culture and told me to check back in with them next week to report my progress.
I’m not exactly sure what caused the prostatitis, but I’ve read a few things that could be the culprit:
– Yeast Infestation (I had yeast in the gut and blood stream, now only in the gut)
– Long Periods of Sitting (I’ve been sedentary 3 times since November, each of which lasted approximately 1 month. This was due to severe fatigue, possibly caused by the Lyme Disease and/or Candida).
After 2 days of being on the antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and pain meds, I’m feeling a bit better. I’m not having to take the pain meds as often, and the pain and pressure isn’t as intense when I near the end of each pain med cycle.
Oil Pulling Update
After 2 weeks, I am happy to report that I can now see the pink of my tongue and there’s only a little bit of thick white near the back of the tongue, but it seems to be breaking up more and more with every oil pulling session.
I’ve been doing oil pulling 3 times a day with a teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil for 15-20 minutes each time. In addition, I have been swishing with a mix of bragg’s apple cider vinegar and a little warm water w/sea salt after the oil pulling which really seems to make me spit a lot of thick mucus, which I believe could be the yeast being removed from my tongue, which has been covered in a thick, white coating for the last 4 years. After using the coconut oil and acv mix, I lightly brush my tongue with a generic tongue scraper that has bristles on one side and hard grooves on the other.
With all of the ailments I have, I’m so excited to see some progress and it gives me hope that my consistency and persistence is starting to pay off.
