I am a 28 year old female who has suffered with chronic IBS for 10+ years. I grew up on a heavy sugar diet and have never been able to put on weight.
I have been on the Candida diet for 10 months, taking antifungals . Very strict. I was feeling amazing for months with minimum pain. my daily routine was the below:
Morning: Bowl of greek yoghurt with oat bran + 1 x probiotic & 1 x Vit B12 tablet.
Morning Tea: A packet of gluten free unflavoured brown rice crackers. I would take either a grapefruit seed extract capsule, a Swiss ‘Yeast Care’ tablet or 2 x ‘Kolorex Candida Care’ capsules.
Lunch: Chicken Breast with Brown rice, baby spinach, cucumber & lemon juice.
Afternoon Tea: Handful of almonds.
Dinner: A variety of Candida Diet Recipes usually just plain meat marinated with fresh garlic and herbs, steamed brocolli and roast pumpkin.
Dessert: A cup of peppermint tea sweetened with Stevia and a glass of Movicol (laxative) before bed.
All was going well with no issues. Probably only experiencing stomach cramps and old
IBS symptoms once a month if i was unlucky. I thought I had found the answer. Then I started seeing a highly recommended specialist for some female-specific symptoms who believes I have chronic thrush, although all tests came back negative for Thrush, the doctor still prescribed me Diflucan and I have been taking 1 x 50mg tablet every evening for the past 3 months, instead of the herbal anti fungals, and now for the past 2 months my symptoms have slowly returned. Getting worse each time an ‘attack’ happens and no relief of my female-specific symptoms. Now Im starting to get upset & depressed as I had so much hope for this diet. I am being so strict and would just love a piece of chocolate cake or mars bar but i have come so far and dont want to reverse any hard work.
Does anyone know if this is just die-off symptoms? Or could it be that the herbal remedies worked better for me? not sure what to do and i am yet to find a doctor who wants to help me. Most do not want to listen once i drop the word DIET.
Any advice is appreciated.
Diflucan is an excellent antifungal drug with very low toxicity. You haven’t been treated correctly since normal doses are 200 mg a day. The treatment for CRC sufferers when combined with other measures and antifungal such as Nystatin, should last no less than 3 months. Sometimes, it is necessary more than 6 months to recover. It is implying that your yeast species be susceptible to it and respond to the antifungal combination. (synergy)
Diflucan isn’t working for you because you have an immune paralysis and the dosage isn’t correct. But, even with the correct doses and treatment length, your immune system needs to be restored to overcome CRC.
The headquarter is in your intestines. It is there where the yeast colonies are commanding the immune suppression state that doesn’t allow to clear the vaginal infection. It won’t clear until those colonies be in your colon.
The MOST important for any candida sufferer is to understand this syndrome. One time you understand it, you know what you should do and why the things happen. After it, you can plan a treatment that be effective to rescue your cell-mediated immunity and be yeast free. !!!
I hope this help. I am leaving you a link you should read.
