Here is a little update. Although, it is most likely TOO soon to tell for sure, I have seen some improvement.
After my post a few days ago, I tried several of the recommendations. I increased my vitamin c to 4,000 as well of increasing my fresh veggies. I eat tons of veggies but mostly cooked. I was already drinking warm lemon water in the mornings (4 cups).
Yesterday morning did not go so well at all. I have had to make it a habit to get up VERY early for work in order to do everything to increase my chances of a BM…and therefore a more comfortable day. Yesterday was no such luck… I was so upset at work and stressed and just plain tired of dealing with this. It really messes with my concentration and motivation to do ANYTHING.
Interestingly, while I was at work I overheard a mom talking about her son having constipation and taking him to the chiropractor. It helped him so much! So I thought…hmmm…I haven’t been to one in 2.5 years…and I’ve been having issues with constipation for about a year…it can’t hurt right? Plus, I have back pain anyways, but always thought it was from the constipation/die-off.
I gave it a try yesterday but still continued all the things I normally do in order to be okay…just in case. A hour or so after the adjustment (which ended up being very loud with all the popping!) I felt movement in my stomach. I frequently feel movement in my stomach, which I have called my “alien” but it feels like a butterfly flapping around. Sometimes you hear it more than you see it. I notice it mostly after eating a meal. Some days it is worse than others. The movement I felt yesterday was different. I spent the evening trying to relax and be careful with my back because I know it doesn’t always want to “stay” after an adjustment.
This morning has gone considerably better than yesterday. Again, it’s too early to tell for sure, but I do see an improvement. I think I’m going to get a few more adjustments and see if it continues to help. Pray for me!
I mentioned what I tried to my hubby. I wanted to see what he thought (althought I had already done it). I’m getting so upset over this that I am willing to try some odd things. He was like, “that makes sense, when my back was hurting pretty bad a few weeks ago it was harder for me to go and it got better after got my back adjusted”. Nice of him to share that with me HUH??? LOL.
If this ends up giving me some much needed relief…I think I will kiss my chiropractor. 🙂
A happier Kirsty
