Kirsty, how awful for you! And so frustrating so feel like a diet that is improving every other aspect seems to be making this one worse? It’s odd… I have suffered from constipation since I was a teen (probably before) and once i’d been on the diet about 3 weeks I started have regular (usually twice a day) and very easy movements. So it’s strange that you’re experiencing the exact opposite?
Do you drink Apple cider Vinegar (I can’t remember if we’ve discussed this before)? My morning routine is probiotics on an empty stomach… very large mug of lemon hot water 1/2 hour later… 1 pint room temp water with 1 desset spoons acv half an hour after that. Sometimes at this stage I have to rush to “go”. Only then do I eat… and then I take the rest of my supplements (including 3000 Vit c).
I think the stress & focus you have on the constipation can’t be helping either. Have you read “The Secret”? It’s a bit over the top for me but I agree with the main message of “what you think about, you bring about”…. so the more you focus on your constipation, the worse it will become. I’ve struggled with rashes/ itches wince starting this process. Each morning I would check all over to see how red/ dry it was… be looking in every shop for various cures, I took pictures of it at its worse and would compare the pic to the reality to see if was getting worse/ better… but after I re-read the health section of “The Secret” recently I’ve shifted my focus completely. I now completely ignore the rash and try to picture clear clean skin… or try not to think about it all. And it has drastically improved! And in general I’m focussing on feeling well rather than constantly examining my negative symptoms all day… my mental attitude towards his condition and to life in general has drastically improved.
I hope thats not too “airy fairy” for you… but I just wanted to share something that might work for you.
