That worries me a little as I’m about to enter the antifungals and probiotics stage of the Lisa Richards plan – postponed by a few days because I’ve already experienced very mild die off from taking probiotics even with the NAC supplement and also because I’m waiting for the antifungals to arrive from the US.

I didn’t know antifungals could be potentially harmful?

The antifungals itself aren’t, but the die off can be pretty hard. You have to protect your liver in the first few weeks of the diet!

I know how unpleasant die off is but I never realised that it could be potentially harmful – does anyone have any experience of it actually damaging an otherwise healthy liver?

Thats why you need a detox plan before you start taking the antifungals. If you don’t detox then it will damage the liver and kidneys. This happened to me when I took high doses of antifungals starting out thinking I could “nuke” the yeast and get better fast. I worked my way up to 30+ drops of oregano oil and grapefruit seed extract multiple times per day at one point but I wasn’t detoxing…I also had a strong infestation going so I should’ve taken things slow.
