I have another question please. While working with the candida diet and protocol to improve overall immunity, what remedies can be used during acute infections, that will not set back our candida elimination efforts.
If you haven’t read this post yet, you may find it helpful.
Candida and the Immune System
Echinacea (purpurea) Root, Goldenseal Root (Hydrastis canadensis), St. John’s Wort Root (Hypericum perforatum) and Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) Extracts
You don’t want to take Goldenseal during a Candida infestation. Echinacea and St. Johns are both fine. Boneset contains rather modest antibacterial properties and would probably be alright for a short period of time. If you’re using extracts instead of powder, be sure to check the ingredients for alcohol which is usually used as the extractant. You don’t want to be ingesting any amount of alcohol during your treatment.
Now Foods, Astragalus Plus Extract, 2 fl oz (60 ml)
A proprietary blend of:
Astragalus Root (Astragalus membranaceus), Codonopsis Root (Codonopsis pilosula), Atractylodes Rhizome (Atractylodes lancea), Schizandra Berry (Schisandra chinensis), Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum), Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Ligustrum Fruit (Ligustrum lucidum) and Rehmannia Root (Rehmannia glutinosa) Extracts
I don’t know the break-down of each one of these herbs, Ariela. You would need to research each individually to see if they contain mild, medium, or strong anti-bacterial properties.
