The first week on the diet i was so weak, i could barely walk or breathe… i was so tired and was kinda worried…till i found out in here it wasnt unusual. now i am still weak but not near as bad. i had major sugar cravings and was hungry all the time all day long before the diet. but now i dont have all of that. with that said, i definitely still like my sweets. i do use xylitol(4 grams of xylitol per teaspoon) and i am going to switch to coconut sugar since xylitol is granules and and sugar alcohol and it will kill a dog in a heartbeat. i own 5 dogs. the coconut sugar is fine grained like reg sugar but its a natural sweetener and is filled with lots of vitamins and minerals. it has 4 grams of sugar per teaspoon as well. I dont think it feeds the candida. I see it as being something good. it can also be used for diabetics. I think its the NEW sugar. so if used..use it very sparingly to satisfy your sweet tooth if needed. and with that said…this may hamper MY recovery time but I have to feel like i can occasionally have something sweet because this diet is boring. i will NEVER get use to liking it. but i am doing it because i HAVE to..that doesnt mean i have to give up things i like. i just find a different way to get them. same for chocolate. so its all about choices. i can honestly say..this diet in this forum is VERY depressing and boring because it is so strict (VERY limited items).. BUT i also see where they are coming from and why. So after much research and reading here, i can combine the info and figure out what works for me. i DO however plan to change the way i eat for the rest of my life without giving up the good things. i know several people may disagree with my thoughts but I have to do what i have to do to get through this. and right now..this is how i am going to get through it. it doesnt mean i am going to go eat a loaf of bread, break open a candy bar or eat a big slice of birthday cake with a big glass of milk. God I would love to do that..but i am finding HEALTHY ways to eat better and still feed my sweet tooth.
if that makes you feel any better. so what i am trying to say…if your very weak, its starving the candida of its fuel, the sugar and carbs. i dont think a tiny bite of something sweet is going to kill ya if you feel light headed…but atleast try to find a different way to do any type of sugar intake. oh..and if you feel that need for chocolate.. get some organic raw unsweetened chocolate with little to no sugar in it. Add some coconut sugar for sweetness. The caffeine in raw chocolate is so low, its almost undetected.
this is my opinion only. NOT The STRICT diets way.
i have been on the diet 3 weeks, taking lots of vitamins, antifungals, probiotics and the strict diet with an occasional sweet tooth fix. I am an extremely picky eater so i dont eat alot of what they eat here…so i make sure i take some herbs that are things you get from eating greens and stuff. i am not a green leaf eater…never have been..never will be. so i have to get my nutrients a different way and i wish there was a category for picky eaters in here… but i am having my eggs daily and coconut oil and stuff. but just to let you know..there is a way to get what you want or need in a more healthier way. i am still trying to figure out how to eat. i think that will take a while..but hey..I am on the right track…and already feeling a tad better. i am no longer fatigued nor am i extremely dizzy.
anyway, thought i would share my story a little bit to maybe help you to get thru the tough times. Cause it sounds like you have a desire for chocolate like me. there is hope.
Able, dont holler at me ok? just saying my thoughts here..Not trying to discourage anyone from sticking to the strict diet..but sometimes..i think its better to get your(sweet)fix a healthier way than to take a bite out of a store bought candy bar.
i would rather guide someone in the right direction even if it is a little off track..than for them to fall completely off of it.
