I know that most candida diet lists include coffee to avoid. Can anyone comment on this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2195351

It is the first time I see that article but the reason of avoiding caffeine isn't because candida feeds with it but because it is an irritant. Coffee and caffeine irritate the gut lining that may be already inflammated as a result of a yeast infection. Caffeine don't help to heal a damaged gut barrier.

As far as feeding the fungus, I don't think so.

Jorge.

If you have leaky gut, coffee is just about the worst thing to have if you are trying to heal it. You need to reduce the inflammation of the gut in order to get better.

Coffee also removes minerals from the body and drains the adrenals which you need to heal.

Coffee is a dried food item and it obtains molds like nuts and seeds.

Avoiding caffeine is advised for a specific reason which is; caffeine inhibits the production of certain adrenal hormones in the body, therefore weakening the adrenals and reducing the ability of the immune system to fight off illnesses such as a Candida albicans infestation.
